On behalf of the staff at Thera-Vet Acres Rehabilitation and Fitness, we are honored to pay respect to our beloved animal friends who have passed. As you walk the grounds at our Webster location you will find, throughout the property, small stones/rocks in memory of some of our very special patients that have left us to go to the Rainbow Bridge.

In Memory of Dr Browne’s Calvin

Calvin found his way into my life on a sunny winter day in Durham, NC. His floppy black ears and empowering brown eyes were full of love, and won me over in an instant. His first few weeks of life were spent battling canine distemper; it would be only a glimpse of the long, difficult road of disease that we would battle together. Calvin became my shadow, following me everywhere and rarely leaving my side. He was not only my dog and my companion, but he was my best friend.

At the age of 1 ½ he was struck with idiopathic epilepsy. It was something we would learn to cope with thru medication, nutrition and love. I never thought Calvin would live as long as he did with the disheartening disease of epilepsy. His drug dosage needed to be incredibly high to keep his seizures controlled. We tried everything to wean him off his medication, and he was one of the reasons why I decided to turn to alternative medicine. A large liver tumor was what finally impelled us to end his suffering.

I will never forget my boy; he has found a place in my heart that will never dissolve. I miss him so much, but my mind is at peace knowing that someday I will meet him at the rainbow bridge. Thanks Big C for the wonderful memories. You will always be my sunshine, and I do believe that we will be together again some day.
