Dr. Kristin Browne
Dr. Kristin Browne was born and raised in Fairport, NY. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from William Smith College in Geneva, NY. In high school and college she was an avid soccer and basketball player. This experience opened her eyes to the benefit of physical fitness and therapy.
Her sport and fitness background, along with her desire to help animals, sparked a need to combine both passions and develop a unique Veterinary rehabilitation clinic.
Dr. Browne graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded the ‘Gentle Doctor’ Award by her classmates. She worked as a small animal practitioner at Brighton Animal Hospital and then followed her dream to focus on Veterinary rehabilitative, fitness, and wellness services.
Dr. Browne gives lectures and presentations on Small Animal Rehab, Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy, and Acupuncture locally and regionally. She is passionate about both canine and equine sports medicine.
Dr. Browne lives with her husband, Dana, and their daughter Mckenzie on their farm appropriately named 4 Paws Farm with their 6 dogs,4 cats, 3 horses, pony, mini donkey and 2 goats. In her spare time, she enjoys eventing her two thoroughbreds, Sirius and Super Pony.

- Canine Rehabilitation by the Animal Rehab Institute (120 hours)
- Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy by the Healing Oasis Center of Canada, an American Veterinary Chiropractic Association approved course (210 hours)
- Veterinary Acupuncture by the American Academy of Veterinary Medical Acupuncture thru Colorado State College of Veterinary Medicine(140 hours)
- Overall she has taken over 500 additional hours of training in addition to her Veterinary degree to be able to provide you and your pet with the latest educational advancements in alternative Veterinary medicine.

Dana is Dr. Browne’s husband and TheraVet Acres business manager. He shares his wife’s compassion for helping animals. A graduate of Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering, he has successfully managed two of his own businesses. He has an interest in the environment and currently works as a Senior Engineer for Product Recovery Management in Butner, NC. PRM designs and fabricates equipment for remediating contaminated soil and groundwater as well as Landfill Gas Recovery equipment.
Kristin and Dana met while both were working in Durham, NC. Their newly adopted puppies brought them together at the dog park at Duke University over 17 years ago. In his spare time Dana enjoys remodeling their 1840 farm house, Karate and helping to keep Thera-Vet Acres running smoothly.
Cheri has been a part of the Thera-Vet team since April, 2008. She is the office manager and oversees many aspects of customer service, general procedures, and human resources. Cheri has 25 years of experience in various office settings, including owning her own business, as well as in computer systems, and as a copy-editor. She is currently working on improvements to the bookkeeping, computer-systems, training & procedures, and will also act as an assistant for Dana Browne, Business Manager, when needed.
Cheri grew up in Penfield, NY, and spent time in NYC, New Hampshire, even Alaska, before returning to the Rochester area to settle down. With Abbie, her adorable mixed mutt, she now lives in Ontario, NY and enjoys long walks, cooking, and computer games.
Jenn started with Thera-Vet in February of 2010 as our Canine Care Manager, supervising the boarding staff. She has since been promoted to our Canine Operations Manager and oversees a lot of the day to day operations of the business. She is a big part of the cozy-care that characterizes our “Home-away-from-Home” feeling for our boarders and therapy dogs.
When not at work Jenn spends her time in the great outdoors camping, fishing, hiking, and rollerskating. She also attends obedience and canine sports classes with her Pomeranian mix, Loki and her Chocolate Lab mix, Ivy. Her 2 orange kitties, Mack and Tank, hold down the fort at home.
In June 2015 Leslie joined our team as Canine Care Manager with 16 years of animal care experience. She spends her days keeping our Lodge ready for incoming boarders, constantly looking for improvement in all areas, and keeping staff up to date on techniques to take our standards of care to even higher levels. Leslie is also our Post Surgical Coordinator handling in-clinic care, as well as client and hospital interaction for patients taking their first steps into rehab after orthopedic surgery.
Leslie is a graduate of Medaille at Buffalo and has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2001. Currently she cares for Yukon Cornelius and her cats Hedwig and Bogey. She enjoys hiking, boating, and riding her pony.
Sarah joined the Thera-Vet family in the fall of 2013. She works in the clinic as a Licensed Veterinary Technician overseeing therapy appointments. She graduated from Medaille College in the spring of 2013, with a degree in veterinary technology and knew almost from the beginning that alternative modalities, therapy and rehabilitation would be an important part of her career. Sarah has almost completed her Canine Rehabilitation Certification (C.C.R.P.) through the University of Tennessee.
Sarah resides in Brockport New York with her husband Adam. Her hobbies include gardening and beekeeping. She enjoys spending her time hiking and kayaking with her golden retriever Daisee-mae, cockapoo/chihuahua mix Potato, Pit mix Angus, and cat Mr. Pickles.
Micaela has been with Thera-Vet since the fall of 2017. She works in-clinic running therapy appointments as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She knew at a young age her career would involve working with animals. She attended SUNY Canton and graduated in the spring of 2016 starting her childhood dream. Micaela lives in Wayne County where she has two beautiful guinea pigs, Penny & Clarabell; and a goofy cat, Scrappy. Micaela likes spending her spare time watching live music, hiking, and enjoying time with friends & family.
Denise became an LVT in 2016 with a goal of learning and being a part of therapy/rehabilitation for dogs. Finally reaching that goal in December 2017 by joining TVA. Denise has worked in General Practice, Animal Emergency Service and experience in Shelter medicine. Denise shares a busy home in Gates, NY with her husband, Robert, two teenage boys (Justin and Logan). Two dogs (Max and Millie), two cats (Ninja and Toothless) and a Yellow Bellied Slider turtle named Mr. Turd. Her oldest son, Justin, recently joined the United States AirForce and is currently stationed at Lackland AirForce Base in SanAntonio, TX. When not working her “therapy” includes walking, hiking, kayaking and reading a good mystery novel and to blow off steam she enjoys a good round of boxing.
Jenn P joined Thera-Vet acres in November of 2018. Before joining us she attended the Animal Science program at Wayne Technical and Career Center, where she first learned she wanted to work with animals. She then worked for the Wayne County Humane Society where she gained a great love of socializing and rehabilitating ‘at risk’ dogs. She has worked in various boarding and grooming positions over the years, and has found her passion caring for animals of all shapes and sizes. Here at Thera-Vet she loves helping our therapy clients progress in their treatment, and enjoys working on our social media advertising. In her free time she enjoys visiting local businesses and attractions around Rochester, and adding to her growing book and video gaming collections.
Jaime started at Thera-Vet Acres in June 2018 as Assistant to the Medical Director. Jaime grew up in Connecticut, graduated from St. Lawrence University, and obtained her Veterinary Technician Degree from Penn Foster. She has spent time in general practice but loves veterinary fitness and rehabilitation. When not at work, Jaime spends lots of her time exercising, boating, and staying involved in her artwork. She does not have a pet at the moment, but is an aunt to many of her friends’ pets!
Johanna joined the Thera-Vet Acres team as a Receptionist in April of 2019. Johanna is a local, growing up and living in Fairport and has always loved animals. She grew up with an assortment of dogs, cats, horses, bunnies and guinea pigs. She went to MCC for Business management and came to TVA with previous experience as a vet assistant and a receptionist. When she’s not working she enjoys riding her horse Melon, playing with her cat Tobey and spending time with her son, Grayson.
Makayla joined Thera-Vet acres in May of 2019. Before joining us she attended the Animal Science program at Wayne Technical and Career Center, where she first learned she wanted to work with animals. She then worked for Petsmart where she learned about grooming and the maintenance of animals to keep them clean, healthy and feeling better. Makayla is now with Thera- vet and is working as a lodge assistant with all of your furry four-legged pups! She also likes helping out upstairs with our clinic patients and she loves to see the progress in their treatment. On her free time, she loves to go hiking, kayaking, do some photography and spend time with her rescue pup Odyssey.
Kathryn aka Kat joined the Thera-Vet Acres family in April of 2019 as our new Day Play Manager. She comes to us with 4 years of Dog Day Care experience. She also grew up around animals out in Wayne County, where her family kept a number of, dogs, cats, livestock, and horses. Outside of her love of animals, she volunteers yearly at the Rochester Teen Book Festival.
Savannah H. joined Thera-Vet Acres in July of 2018 as a Lodge Assistant. Since then she has grown with us and now also works as a clinic assistant as well as with our therapy dogs. Savannah came to us with a great love of dogs, growing up with her parents breeding dachshund. Savannah feels like working at Thera-Vet has helped her find her calling, and plans on continuing her education as a Vet Tech with therapy in mind.
Ben joined the Thera-vet team as a clinic assistant in December of 2019. Prior to Thera-vet, Ben worked at Canine Comfort dog daycare in Ithaca and as a research scientist at Ecolectro Inc. When not at work, Ben enjoys hiking, fishing, and all things outdoors, as well as reading and playing video games. His favorite game is Civilization and his favorite authors are Ted Kerasote, Bill Watterson, and Charles Dickens. He shares an apartment in Lima, New York with his partner Rosalyn and their two cats Oliver and Jasmine.
Shawn joined the Thera-Vet family in January 2020. He works in the clinic as a Clinic Assistant helping the licensed veterinary technician during appointments and helps the lodge with boarding. Shawn was a kennel attendant and a team leader for about 3 years. He also has been dog sitting for 7 years! Shawn is hoping to go back to school to become a licensed veterinary technician and joined our team to learn more about rehabilitation.
Shawn resides in Greece, New York with his two dogs Kenner and Maya. His hobbies include various sports such as hockey, volleyball, kickball, and hiking. He is looking forward to training Maya in nose work.
Michelle came to Thera-Vet as a part-time receptionist in the summer of 2020. She grew up in the Saratoga region and relocated to this area some years ago. She, her husband and son own and operate a small, organic meat business in Marion NY where animal humanity & health are her priority.
Her pets are 2 Labradors – Maisey & Charlie and a cat named“ Dew”. She has been known to have baby chicks, turkeys and even an hours-old calf come into her home when they needed more attentive care. Always loving the idea of the veterinarian field, the farm has given her that opportunity to practice animal husbandry on a more manageable scale.
Amanda joined Thera-Vet in October 2018. She works in Home Away From Home Lodge with healthy boarding and therapy dogs. She enjoys being part of the post-surgical Patients’ recovery process and seeing them back up on their feet again. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family, finding waterfalls, nature trails, and camping.
Previously in the shoe and leather restoration field, Don came to work with us in the summer of 2020, after his battles with cancer forced him to make a career change. His own experiences with quality and heartfelt care, received during his cancer treatments and recovery, moved him to pay that same care forward. Don has been a long time dog owner and believes that they are not just pets but family members. Don grew up in Webster but now lives in Rochester. He also enjoys restoring old garden tractors and collecting pedal cars.
Halle joined Thera-Vet in October of 2020 as a clinic assistant. She has earned her Veterinary Technician Degree at GCC. Shortly after graduating, she became a Licensed Veterinary Technician and worked in general practice for 6 years. There is where she learned proper medical treatment is not always conventional but to step back and aid the body to heal naturally with some guidance.
When not at work, Halle enjoys being a new home buyer in Genesee County with her boyfriend and her four-legged children, Blue and Lily. She spends her time as an active dog trainer, hiking, camping, and fishing.
