Dr. Kristin Browne

Dr. Kristin Browne was born and raised in Fairport, NY. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from William Smith College in Geneva, NY. In high school and college, she was an avid soccer and basketball player. This experience opened her eyes to the benefit of physical fitness and therapy.

Her sport and fitness background, along with her desire to help animals, sparked a need to combine both passions and develop a unique Veterinary rehabilitation clinic.

Dr. Browne graduated from Kansas State University, College of Veterinary Medicine where she was awarded the ‘Gentle Doctor’ Award by her classmates. She worked as a small animal practitioner at Brighton Animal Hospital and then followed her dream to focus on Veterinary rehabilitative, fitness, and wellness services.

Dr. Browne gives lectures and presentations on Small Animal Rehab, Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy, and Acupuncture locally and regionally. She is passionate about both canine and equine sports medicine.

Dr. Browne lives with her husband, Dana, and their daughter Mckenzie on their farm appropriately named 4 Paws Farm with their 5 dogs, 6 cats, 3 horses, pony, and mini donkey. In her spare time, she enjoys eventing her two thoroughbreds, Sirius and Super Pony.

Dr. Browne is a member of the following:

  • New York State Veterinary Medical Association

Dr. Browne is certified in the following:

  • Canine Rehabilitation by the Animal Rehab Institute (120 hours)
  • Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy by the Healing Oasis Center of Canada, an American Veterinary Chiropractic Association approved course (210 hours)
  • Veterinary Acupuncture by the American Academy of Veterinary Medical Acupuncture thru Colorado State College of Veterinary Medicine(140 hours)
  • Overall she has taken over 500 additional hours of training in addition to her Veterinary degree to be able to provide you and your pet with the latest educational advancements in alternative Veterinary medicine.
  • Vet-Stem Regenerative Medicine

 


Dana

Dana is Dr. Browne’s husband and Thera-Vet Acres’ business manager. He shares his wife’s compassion for helping animals. A graduate of Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering, he has successfully managed two of his own businesses. He has an interest in the environment and currently works as a Senior Engineer for Product Recovery Management in Butner, NC. PRM designs and fabricates equipment for remediating contaminated soil and groundwater as well as Landfill Gas Recovery equipment.
Kristin and Dana met while both were working in Durham, NC. Their newly adopted puppies brought them together at the dog park at Duke University over 23 years ago. In his spare time, Dana enjoys remodeling their 1840 farmhouse, Karate, and helping to keep Thera-Vet Acres running smoothly.

 

 


Sarah

Sarah joined the Thera-Vet family in the fall of 2013. She works in the clinic as a Licensed Veterinary Technician, overseeing therapy appointments. She graduated from Medaille College in the spring of 2013, with a degree in Veterinary Technology. In 2019, Sarah became certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee. Sarah lives in Brockport, New York with her daughter (Azeliea), cockapoo/chihuahua mix (Potato), Pit mix (Angus), and cat (Mr. Pickles). Her hobbies include gardening, beekeeping, hiking, and kayaking.

 

 

 


Micaela

Micaela has been with Thera-Vet since the fall of 2017. She works in-clinic running therapy appointments as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She knew at a young age her career would involve working with animals. She attended SUNY Canton and graduated in the spring of 2016 starting her childhood dream. Micaela lives in Wayne County where she has two beautiful guinea pigs, Penny & Clarabell; and a goofy cat, Scrappy. Micaela likes spending her spare time watching live music, hiking, and enjoying time with friends & family.

 


Denise

Denise joined Thera-Vet Acres in 2017 as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. In 2021 Denise became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Colorado. She has worked in various aspects of the animal field from kennel work, emergency, shelter medicine and general practice. She lives in Gates with her husband, Robert. She two boys, one who is in the AirForce and the other in college. Her fur babies include a boxer-mix; Max, and a black cat; Ninja. When not at work her “therapy” includes hiking, kayaking, boxing and reading.

 


Jaime

Jaime started at Thera-Vet Acres in June 2018 as Assistant to the Medical Director. Jaime grew up in Connecticut, graduated from St. Lawrence University, and obtained her Veterinary Technician Degree from Penn Foster. She has spent time in general practice but loves veterinary fitness and rehabilitation. When not at work, Jaime spends lots of her time exercising, boating, and staying involved in her artwork. She has two very social Swedish ducks named Oscar and Fiona that love to swim in the pool and come inside and spend time with the family!


Jenna

Jenna started at Thera-Vet Acres in October 2019 as one of Dr. Brownes’ assistants, she is also cross-trained in other departments to help when needed. She’s our Jill of all Trades! She was born and raised in Penfield, NY, and currently lives in Penfield. She has always had a passion for animals growing up. She went to MCC for general studies and afterward immediately got into the animal field where she started in a kennel department, then as an animal care assistant. She worked in the general practice for over 10 years, and she also had always liked the rehabilitation aspect of it. She has a very active 5 years old Golden Retriever, Monty, and two cats, Fonzi and Perla.

When not working, she likes to stay active, often doing something outdoors or working out. She has always been active with sports. She likes to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys longs walks or bike rides, live music, cooking, and reading. Also, she enjoys traveling, especially to go see her brothers in South Carolina and Connecticut!


Bethany

Bethany joined Thera-Vet Acres in the fall of 2022. She works as the front desk coordinator and doing some of the bookkeeping. She graduated from Alfred University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She previously spent time as a receptionist in a general practice. When not at work Bethany likes to spend time with her horse and cats.

 


Brittany

Boarding Manager
From a very young age, Brittany knew her life-long goals were going to include a profession in animal care. As soon as she was able, she entered the veterinary medicine field in 2011. Since then, Brittany has spent time learning about physical rehabilitative services, along with furthering her education and training in canine behavior, and humane resources/management. After several years supervising in the Behavior & Training Department at a local humane society, she decided that her passion lie with the physical side of canine rehab and rejoined Thera-Vet in October of 2022 as the Boarding Manager. Brittany lives with her husband, and their three dogs. Denver, her heart-dog, Omaha, their physically & behaviorally rehabilitated shelter rescue, and Chandler, their comic relief. Brittany’s professional goals continue to include cultivating a cohesive team dedicated to putting the physical and emotional needs of the animals in our care at the top of the list. In her spare time, Brittany enjoys hiking with her dogs, ice fishing, horseback riding, and spending time with friends.


Tori

Tori

Tori started at Thera-Vet Acres in November of 2023 as our Assistant Boarding Manager and has the heart and compassion for animal care. Tori is currently in school for her licensed veterinary technician degree and has over five years of experience in the animal care field including another boarding facility in Alaska and a former Rochester veterinary emergency hospital. She has fostered, rehabilitated, and released many animals and wants to work on the exotic side once she finishes school. During her down time, Tori loves to spend time with her 3 year old daughter, Gianna, and her cat, Steve. Her hobbies include hiking, finding stays, and food!


Naomi

Naomi joined Thera-Vet Acres in July of 2023 as our Assistant Boarding Manager and now also acts as our Day Play Coordinator. Naomi has been working in the animal care field for over 9 years in animal hospital, shelter, resort, boarding and day care settings. She loves getting the opportunity to build relationships with the animals in her care and to provide a space for positive care and enrichment. Naomi lives in Greece, NY with her senior yellow lab, Diesel and her spirited younger mixed breed dog, Echo. In her free time, she enjoys listening to paranormal and true crime podcasts, taking her dogs on hikes, finding places for them to swim together, and is attempting to pick up crocheting again.


Clara

Clara started at Thera-Vet in November 2022. She mainly helps in the Clinic as a Clinic Assistant but helps in lodge when needed. Clara grew up in Mendon, NY and received her bachelor’s degree in Equine Science focusing on equine rehabilitation. She spent a year in New Hill, NC where she grew her knowledge and skills in rehabbing sport horses and afterwards returned to NY to put her knowledge to use with the canines here at Thera-Vet. She resides in Monroe County with her 3 cats, 2 rabbits and her horse. Clara spends her free time weightlifting, horse riding and spending time with her friends and family!


Izzy

Izzy

Izzy joined Thera-vet in March of 2023 as a Lodge Assistant. I am now trained as a Clinic Assistant where I have the daily satisfaction of supporting our special clients on their road to relief and recovery. I have always had a passion for all animals, inspired by years of riding horses and having owned my horse, Dolce. I saw first-hand how beneficial therapy worked on her when she was injured. When I realized Thera-vet offered the same therapy on smaller size animals, I thought it was the coolest thing and I decided to check it out! I currently live in Fairport, NY with my crazy Cavapoo Buddy and family Guinea pig Leopold. When I’m not working, I enjoy my time with family and friends and little adventures that include travel, hiking, water sports on Lake Ontario and of course walks at the dog park with Buddy and his friends!


Hannah

Hannah joined Thera-Vet in November of 2022 as a boarding assistant. During Hannah’s time with us, she has gotten to learn other departments including Reception and Day Play. She is an avid animal lover and always wanted a career working with animals. She loves getting to spend time with and learn each individual dog that comes to the board. Hannah is one of our go-to staff members to help transition some of our more nervous boarding pups by helping them come out of their shell and show us their awesome personalities. Hannah finds it so rewarding to be able to take care of our specialized care cases – helping them heal and become the happiest & healthiest version of themselves. Hannah currently resides in Charlotte, NY with her partner, Kevin, and their little fur family including their two cats, Mikey and Sylvester (littermates), her step-dog Maverick, a senior Beagle mix, and Sami, a Maltese mix that is continuing to work on gaining confidence every day!


Tim

Tim

Tim joined Thera-Vet Acres in September of 2024. He graduated from Genesee Community College in 2023 and earned his licensed veterinary technician degree shortly after. He previously worked at a specialty and emergency hospital. While there, Tim found his passion for veterinary rehabilitation medicine. Tim’s goal is to expand on his license by becoming a certified canine rehab practitioner. When he isn’t working, Tim enjoys reading, writing, and enjoying time with his pets.


Vivian

Vivian started working at Thera-Vet in March of 2023 as a boarding assistant. From a young age, she has always had a passion for animals. Vivian studied two years at Medaille College in their Veterinary Technician program and has 4+ years of experience in boarding/daycare facilities and vet hospitals. During her free time, she likes to ski, hike, and go to concerts.


Lyndsey

Lyndsey started working at Thera-Vet Acres in June of 2024. She started as a lodge assistant and now being trained in different departments, such as Day Play, Clinic Assistant, and Doctor Assistant. She has been enjoying getting to learn different aspects of the company and meeting all new patients. It is a rewarding job to be able to help and make a difference in an animal’s life through the therapy we offer. She lives in Macedon, NY with her family and dogs, River and Abbey Rose, along with her rabbit, Winnie. She enjoys playing and watching sports along with being at the lake. In her free time she loves to be with friends and family.


Cheri (Retired)

Cheri had been a part of the Thera-Vet team since April, 2008. She officially retired in the fall of 2023. We wish her the best in her next phase of life. She was the office manager and oversaw many aspects of customer service, general procedures, and human resources. Cheri had over 25 years of experience in various office settings, including owning her own business, as well as in computer systems, and as a copy-editor.

Cheri grew up in Penfield, NY, and spent time in NYC, New Hampshire, even Alaska, before returning to the Rochester area to settle down. With Abbie, her adorable mixed mutt, she now lives in Ontario, NY and enjoys long walks, cooking, and computer games.
