TheraVet Acres seeks to continually provide a welcoming and safe environment which ensures trust and respect for all people and pets. The following applies to all TheraVet Staff AND Clients.

Please know that we are doing our best to accommodate as many patients/clients as we can while still maintaining our exceptional level of compassion and care that we have been known for; and as well, balancing that with a good work-life balance for our staff.

We will not accept the following behaviors:

  • Verbal abuse, malicious or harmful statements, profanity or disrespect in ANY form or fashion, whether directed to staff or other clients and whether due to a mistake on our part or an assumption by you of a mistake on our part.
  • Any form of physical harassment.
  • Discriminatory comments or actions.
  • Intimidation tactics and/or the indication of threats.
  • Allowing your pet to intimidate or threaten a person or another pet.
  • Public disclosure of another’s private information.
  • Failure to comply with requests of our staff, including leashing/restraining your pet.

If your behavior is problematic, we reserve the right to discontinue services immediately. This policy is strictly enforced, and non-compliance will result in corrective measures being taken, which may include removal of you as a client/customer, being asked to leave the property and the possible involvement of law-enforcement in extreme cases. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Liability Release Form

Thera-Vet Acres Rehabilitation and Fitness

I, the undersigned, as owner/caretaker of the pet as noted below, understand that Thera-Vet Acres Rehabilitation and Fitness is a one doctor practice. Our staff of technicians and assistants are thoroughly trained, very knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping you and your pet. Initial examinations, recheck examinations, acupuncture sessions, and veterinary spinal manipulation adjustments will be done by a licensed Veterinarian with the appropriate rehab and therapy training. A Veterinarian may not always be on the premises during other treatments. For these treatments you may request an appointment specifically when a Veterinarian is on the premises. Additional costs may be incurred. Pet owner understands that Veterinary rehabilitation can entail certain risks of injury. Compromised dogs may experience injuries or even death due to the physical stress of certain therapies. Thera-Vet’s staff will take every precaution to protect your pet.

Owner certifies that any pet brought to Thera-Vet for therapy or boarding is current with vaccinations or titers for Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella and is free of parasites. Owner authorizes release of pertinent records from their primary care Veterinarian to document current vaccination or titer status, as needed. Pet owner is aware that Thera-Vet does not require that all dogs (whether appointment or boarding) be on medication for parasite control. If parasites are found, they will be treated at the owner’s expense and a fee will be applied for treatment and facility sanitization.

Thera-Vet Acres staff will always strive to provide superior care for your pet, and we pride ourselves on making sure your pet has a safe, beneficial, and enjoyable stay. Any time dogs play, board, or interact together, there is a possibility of injury from rough play or combative behavior. In choosing to rent our play areas or bathing facility, participate in day play, or board for the day or overnight, the owner agrees that any injury incurred by his/her pet, themselves, or any accompanying minors or friends during the use of the facilities, shall not incur any liability of any type on the part of Thera-Vet Acres. All minors (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. You have hereby been notified that our bathing and hydrotherapy areas may be wet and/or slippery at any time. You hold Thera-Vet Acres harmless and release the facility from all liability in the event of any injury to your pet, yourself or anyone accompanying your visit. Thera-Vet Acres may hold you responsible for any damage caused by you or your pet to the facility.

Thera-Vet Acres staff will do our best to make your pets' visit to our facility as stress free as possible. Pets handle situational changes in different ways. If you believe there is a possibility of your pet biting or nipping due to stress, pain, injury or behavioral issues, you must bring this to our attention immediately. We may opt to refuse service or curtail services immediately depending upon the severity of the situation. If we cannot care for your pet due to behavioral issues, you or your emergency contact will be required to make arrangements to pick up your pet immediately upon notification. If we do opt to continue to board/work with your pet and there are concerns about biting, please provide a basket muzzle or other protective device. In the event of a bite, Thera-Vet Acres is required to complete and turn in a bite report to Monroe County.

Thera-Vet can provide estimates for longer term care and/or boarding. Charges when invoiced may differ from estimates, reflecting those amenities and services that were actually utilized. Pet owner agrees to pay the charges on the final invoice, even if that amount should vary from the original estimate.

Thera-Vet Acres is not a full-service Veterinary clinic, and we do not have the facilities or supplies for anything more than routine care. A Veterinarian and/or Veterinary technician may not be on the premises at all times. In case of an emergency, we will provide supportive care to the best of our abilities for your pet. We will attempt to contact you prior to taking your pet to an emergency veterinary hospital who can accommodate your pet. Pet owner agrees to take financial responsibility for any charges incurred in transport and care. Additionally, and more importantly, you agree that you understand Thera-Vet’s limitations as described above. You hold Thera-Vet harmless and release this facility from all liability with respect to emergency care of the below-named patient.

Owner understands that we use photos and video for documenting patient status and occasionally post these to our website or social media. Any content is carefully edited to include only the patient’s name, breed, age, condition, but no information identifying the owner.
