MLS Therapy Laser utilizes a proprietary and patented delivery system that synchronizes two wavelengths, 808nm and 905nm. The 808nm wavelength provides anti-inflammitory and anti-edema effects via a continuous wave delivery. The 905nm wavelenth provides analgesic effects, with some of the same effects of the 808nm wavelength, and is delivered using pulsed mode laser energy. With these wavelengths and synchoronized delivery system, the laser penetrates up to 3-4cm depending on tissue type. Biological effects of Laser Therapy include anti-inflammatory efffects, pain relief (analgesic), accelerated tissue repair and cell growth, improved vascular activity, increased metabolic activity, trigger points and acupuncture points, reduces fibrous tissue formation, improves nerve function and faster wound healing.

Prescription Pulsed Signal Therapy (PST)

PST consists of pulsed signals, transmitted into the joint to promote the repair of damaged cells, rebuild bone and cartilage, and stimulate the normal repair and maintenance processes. It is a non-surgical, painless therapy without side effects.
The process of rebuilding the bone and cartilage takes some time. Although many veterinerians and pet owners report immediate results, you should expect to see a continuing improvement in the degree of your pet’s pain and stiffness over a period of 8-16 weeks post treatment.

Injury to the cranial cruciate ligament or CCL (ACL in Humans) is the most common orthopedic injury in the dog. This injury is due to a partial or complete tear of a ligament inside the stifle (knee). The resulting instability leads to pain and arthritis. In certain cases, stabilization is recommended for best short and long-term function, quality of life, and comfort. Stabilization is traditionally done surgically either with a joint realignment surgery (TPLO or TTA) or with a pseudo-ligament surgically placed outside the joint (tight rope or lateral suture). These procedures are considered the standard of care, in general. The use of custom orthosis (a brace) has become available as an alternative to surgery when surgery is not appropriate. These reasons may include other health issues, unacceptable surgical or anesthesia risk, advanced age, or financial constraints, among others. Not all dogs can be considered a candidates for a custom orthosis. Examples could be short, stocky dogs such a Corgi’s and English Boxers, Frenchies. Tiny breeds such as Yorkies, Chihuahua, Maltese and others. If you have any questions whether your dog would qualify please reach out to discuss his/her specific case.
